Ask The Owners Who Stopped Hearing It At 2AM

None of this is really about digestion. It is about a dog who feels good again, and a dog who feels good is impossible to miss. Up before you are, in the way while you cook, leaning on your leg while you work. People do not reorder because of a promise. They reorder because their dog is more themselves than they have been in a long time.

  • Daisy
Daisy would lick her front paws every night until the fur between her toes turned rusty. I'd hear it at 2am and get up to stop her. We're at three weeks and I've slept through five nights in a row now.
    Megan R. Daisy · 2yr Goldendoodle · Asheville, NC
  • Charlie
Three shampoos and a cone later, Charlie was still scratching his belly raw. My sister sent me this. Somewhere around week three he stopped chewing at himself.
Sarah B. Charlie · 4yr Golden Retriever · Boise, ID
  • Tank
Two bags of the $90 allergy food from the vet sitting in my garage and Tank was still itching. This just goes on top of his normal food. By about week five the scratching slowed way down.
    Mike S. Tank · 7yr Mastiff · Denver, CO
  • Coco
Frenchies and itchy skin, you know. Coco's belly and paws were always red. We tried every kibble out there. Around week four the red started fading and she quit chewing her feet.
Jasmine W. Coco · 4yr French Bulldog · Atlanta, GA
  • Bear
Bear would scratch so hard at night the tags on his collar woke us up. Took about a month, but now the house is quiet at night.
James T. Bear · 8yr German Shepherd · Austin, TX

Why Shampoos, Pills And The Cone Keep Wearing Off

It's not that you're doing something wrong. It's that every one of them works on the outside of your dog, and the licking usually starts on the inside.

Medicated dog shampoo
The shampoo
Bag of prescription dog food
The Rx food
Golden retriever in a cone
The cone
  1. They only reach the paw. Shampoos and sprays clean the skin for a day or two, and the cone only keeps the paw out of reach. But the paw is only where the itch shows up, so the licking comes back the minute the cone comes off.
  2. They quiet the itch without fixing it. Apoquel and Cytopoint can calm the itch, and for some dogs they're the right call. But they don't put anything back in the gut, which is why so many owners say the drugs worked at first, then stopped working.
  3. The costs add up, month after month. One owner wrote that the prescription food alone runs $148 a bag. Then come the refills and the rechecks, and the licking is still there at 2am.

Gut Rescue works from the inside: live bacteria back in the gut, one scoop on top of dinner.

From 2AM Licking To Their Old Self In A Few Short Weeks

A healthy gut is built, not switched on. It takes weeks of quiet work inside before anything changes on the outside, but once that work is done, it is written all over them.

Illustration: a golden retriever asleep on a rug, then a view inside the gut where bacteria settle among the intestinal surface
  • Week 2

    The gut quiets down.

Less gas, a calmer stomach, fewer stops for grass on walks. It starts on the inside, before you see it on the skin.

  • Week 4

    The scratching starts to ease.

Fewer scratching fits after dinner, and the red patches start to calm down. This is the week most owners notice something is changing.

  • Week 6

    The licking gets shorter.

Your dog starts licking, then puts their head down after a minute. The rust brown between the toes starts to fade.

  • Week 8

    The whole house sleeps through.

No more licking at 2am. Calmer skin, a softer coat, and the dog you missed back to their old self.

The Signs

Four Signs. One Gut.

Most owners treat these like four different problems. They aren't. All four are how one imbalanced gut shows up.

  • Constant scratching

Behind the ears, the belly, the base of the tail

  • Paw licking

Every night, until the fur turns rusty brown

  • Eating grass

On every walk, then the stomach gurgles

  • Upset stomach

Gas after dinner and a stomach that gurgles at night

The Difference

Other Brands Fall Short.

Most dog probiotics are bacteria sitting in a flavor base. Gut Rescue is a fiber formula with the bacteria in it.

The Science

How a scoop becomes
a better gut.

Three steps from the daily scoop to a steadier gut. No filler science, just what the strains actually do.

1.The strains survive the trip

Spore-forming bacteria pass through stomach acid intact and arrive in the small intestine alive. Most probiotic blends die on the way down.

2.They colonize the gut wall

Each strain anchors, multiplies and crowds out the trouble bacteria, then makes the short-chain fatty acids that rebuild the gut lining.

3.The microbiome rebalances

Fed every day, the gut holds its new balance. Less itching, calmer paws, a shinier coat. The outward signs of a steadier system inside.

Common questions

Asked & Answered.

How long until I see results?

Most owners notice a calmer stomach and less gas in the first couple of weeks. The licking usually gets shorter around weeks 4 to 6, and many dogs are sleeping through the night by week 8. Dogs with a longer history of itching can take longer, because the gut rebuilds gradually. Every dog is different, so for the best results we recommend giving Gut Rescue at least 60 days of consistent daily use. That is also why our guarantee runs a full 60 days, plenty of time for your dog to respond.

How do I give it to my dog, and how much?

One level scoop a day for dogs up to 50 lb, two scoops for dogs over 50 lb, mixed into their regular food. Most dogs love the taste and dig right in, so there is no fight at mealtime. The scoop is included, and each jar holds 30 scoops.

How long does one jar last?

Thirty scoops. For a dog under 50 lb that is one scoop a day, so one jar is a full month. Over 50 lb it is two scoops a day, which is why those plans ship two jars for the same month rather than one.

The jar is about the size of a tennis ball, the kind of thing you close your hand around. A scoop is 4 grams and the jar holds 120 grams, so a full month of daily scoops fits in that space.

My dog is picky. Will they eat this?

Most dogs take to the taste right away once it is stirred into their food, so even picky eaters tend to clean the bowl. If yours is especially fussy, mix it into something wet like broth, wet food, or a spoon of plain yogurt and they will not think twice.

Is it safe for puppies, seniors, or pregnant dogs?

It is made for adult dogs of all sizes, including seniors. For puppies under three months, pregnant or nursing dogs, or any dog on medication, check with your vet first.

Will my dog's stool get looser at first?

Some dogs have a few days of softer or more frequent stools when they start, while the gut adjusts to the new fiber and the live cultures. It usually settles within the first week. If you would rather ease into it, give half a scoop for the first three or four days and then move up to the full amount. If anything looks off or it does not settle, stop and check with your vet.

Can I give it with food, medication, or other supplements?

Yes. Gut Rescue goes right on top of their normal meals and fits alongside most routines. If your dog is on medication, we recommend checking with your vet first.

Do I need to refrigerate it?

No. Keep the jar sealed at room temperature, away from direct heat and moisture, and it stays fresh through the last scoop.

Why a powder instead of a chew?

A chew has to hold its shape, so a large share of one is binder and flavor base, and the working ingredients ride along in whatever room is left. A powder has no shape to hold, so nearly the whole scoop is formula. In Gut Rescue that means pumpkin is the largest ingredient by a wide margin and the liver flavor is only 400 mg of the scoop. It also stirs into the food, so a dog who would spit out a treat still gets the full dose.

Is this the same as the pumpkin or yogurt I already give?

Those are good instincts and they point at the right things. Canned pumpkin is mostly water, so a spoonful carries a fraction of the fiber that a scoop of dried flesh powder does. Yogurt brings dairy cultures, which are not the strains studied in dogs, and it brings lactose along with them. Gut Rescue puts concentrated pumpkin fiber and three dog-specific live cultures in one scoop, plus apple fiber, which feeds the cells lining the gut wall itself.

What if it doesn't work for my dog?

You are covered by our 60-day happiness guarantee. Give the gut 30 days to reset. If your dog isn't better by day 60, full refund. First order only.
